The League

MUCSLB “Senior” Baseball League Mission Statement

 

The MUCSLB “Senior” Baseball league has been in existence since 1997 under a variety of different names: Midget – Junior House League (1997 – 1999), the Junior House League ((2000 – 2001), the Intermediate House League (2002 – 2003) and the Baseball West Island Senior League (2004 – 2007).

At the end of the 2007 season, the players and the executive of the Senior League decided to re-name and re-affiliate its Senior league with Lakeshore Baseball. Thus, 2008 was the inaugural year for the newly formed MUCSLB under the L.B.A. banner.

The MUCSLB is a 14 team league affiliated with L.B.A.

 

 

 

Our Philosophy

The MUCSLB is a 3 Division league that firmly believes that every player who wants to play real baseball should have the opportunity to do so, at a competitive level according to one’s playing ability. We have no age restrictions and at present we have players from the ages of 18 – 60 years of age playing competitive recreational league baseball.

The MUCSLB adopts a variety of rules designed specifically for its league. For example: every player must play, every player must bat, a variety of pitching rules are implemented in order to keep the games fair, a variety of “mercy” rules are used in order to keep the games moving and certain time constraints also apply at certain times.

The MUCSLB encourages a “team” entry format into the league but it will also accept players on an individual basis if space in the league permits it.

The MUCSLB plays approximately 24 games throughout the regular season, followed by league playoffs for all teams (about 3 – 15 games.)

The MUCSLB also host a mid-season “Charity Tournament” in which funds are raised for local charities.
